LA VINE Coverage in Bossier
LA VINE, once called LAVNS, runs as Louisiana's Victim Notification Network. LCLE built it with justice partners statewide. It tracks adults held in parish jails or state prisons. Search online or call (866) 528-6748. Registration is free. It can stay anonymous, with notices for release, transfer, or other status changes.
The roster directory keeps two feeds apart. One is the Bossier Parish roster; the other is the Bossier City Police roster. They cover different custody paths. On the BPSO inmate card, the "Notify Me of Status Change" button also routes you toward VINE notification.
Check a Bossier Arrest on VINELink
- Open VINELink Louisiana and confirm that Louisiana is selected.
- Search by the person’s full name or offender/ID number when available.
- Use date of birth, sex, race, location, or other offered fields to distinguish duplicate names.
- Open only the matching result and note the holding agency and status.
- If no result appears, check both the parish and Bossier City sources, then the same-day arrest route.
- Contact the jail directly for an urgent or safety-critical confirmation.
The Louisiana VINELink search page appears in this neutral capture:

What VINELink Shows After Arrest
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Custody status | The system’s latest reported held, released, or transferred state. |
| Facility or agency | The reporting jail or prison; use it for direct confirmation. |
| Offender identifier | A way to distinguish people with similar names. |
| Demographic details | May include DOB, gender, race, or location to resolve a match. |
| Notification option | A registration path for custody changes, not a court calendar. |
LCLE says its roster feeds pull from jail-management data and refresh every 30 minutes. The state DPS&C locator updates every 24 hours. Those clocks describe different layers, so treat them separately.
Register for Free Custody Alerts
- Open the verified person record and select the notification or alert action.
- Choose the offered phone, text, or email destination.
- Enter the contact information accurately and select the events offered by the service.
- Create or enter the required four-digit PIN.
- Submit and complete any confirmation step. Keep the PIN private because it controls later changes or cancellation.
Registration costs nothing and can stay anonymous. Still, alerts are only a supplement, so during an emergency call the agency directly rather than waiting on a notice.
VINELink Limits and Confirmation
VINE is no mugshot archive. Nor is it a warrant portal or conviction search. Data entry can lag a fresh arrest, and sealed, expunged, juvenile, or otherwise protected matters may not appear. BOP and ICE custody sit outside LA VINE, so use the federal locators for those cases. The BPSO roster also links into VINE notification.

The parish roster is a custody starting point; VINELink provides the continuing alert workflow.
For the booking record, photo-copy rules, and court path, turn to the Bossier Parish recent-arrests hub. The Weekly Arrest Log adds several days of context.
Choosing the Correct Bossier Roster
Pick the parish roster when BPSO or the Bossier Parish Jail holds the person. City custody belongs on the Bossier City Police roster. A city felony arrest can transfer to the parish jail, so a changed facility may mean movement, not a duplicate booking. Haughton and Benton list no separate VINE rows.
When several names look alike, compare birth date, gender, race, location, and the offender identifier before trusting any match. Never register an alert on an uncertain match.
Alerts and Direct Confirmation
VINE relies on data from participating agencies. A notice can arrive late or fail. Maybe a phone is disconnected, an email is filtered, or a number was mistyped. Treat alerts as one extra channel.
When safety or a proceeding rides on status, confirm with the facility directly, keep the four-digit PIN private, and call 911 in an emergency rather than waiting for automation.
Custody Is Not Disposition
A release notice means custody changed. It says nothing about dismissal. A transfer notice marks movement, not a sentence. For the case itself, Bossier City Court handles city matters, while the Bossier Parish Clerk and the 26th JDC cover district cases. VINE also is not a photo archive.
Telephone Access to LA VINE
You can reach LA VINE by phone. LCLE publishes (866) 528-6748, also written 866-LAVNS-4-U, for custody questions and registration. Calling helps when the roster page will not load. Have the correct name or identifier ready. Listen closely to the facility and status the system states.
It is not a jail records office. VINE gives custody facts and alerts; BPSO or Bossier City holds the actual local record, so ask the right records custodian for an incident report, booking entry, or photograph.
State, Federal, and Immigration Boundaries
Louisiana DPS&C says its state locator covers people assigned to state custody, including prisoners and people under community supervision. That is not the same population. Someone can move from parish custody into the state system after sentencing. The useful locator changes with that move.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal custody from 1982 forward. It offers no public booking-photo gallery. ICE's Online Detainee Locator is separate and needs an A-number plus country of birth or exact biographical details. Federal pretrial custody may involve USMS and federal courts. LA VINE does not combine any of these systems.
When No VINE Result Appears
Check spelling, name order, and aliases first. Confirm Louisiana and the correct Bossier agency are picked. A fresh booking can lag. Released, transferred, juvenile, sealed, or expunged matters may not return publicly. An empty result is not a warrant clearance, a court disposition, or proof that no arrest occurred.
Next, check the official BPSO roster and the separate city roster when relevant. Call the published facility number too. For a past booking rather than present status, request the record from the custodian, since each step answers a narrower question than a broad name search.
Registering for an alert changes nothing about the record itself. Bossier Parish juvenile custody sits outside the normal adult roster. An expunged record can stay confidential. When a listing looks wrong, call the reporting facility. Guessing at a sealed matter through VINELink is not the right tool. To seek an official correction, name the person, the agency, and the date. State the field at issue too. The custodian will want supporting documents as well.
Keep your contact details current. Test the phone or email you registered. If a number changes, update or cancel the alert with your PIN. Also, avoid sharing an alert screenshot that reveals someone else's identifiers.
LA VINE covers adult parish jails and state prisons only. A local police contact does not automatically create a searchable alert record. The person must be entered into a participating custody system first. An arrest report question goes to the police or sheriff records office. A warrant or judgment question belongs with the court. Routing each question to the right office works best. It beats treating a custody-notification system as a universal criminal-record search.
